This spomenik is an Ottoman-era house-themed memorial to the fallen Partisan fighters who resisted the German and Bulgarian Axis armies in and around Kavadarci during World War II.

The memorial's shape is inspired by a type of traditional Macedonian house called 'čardak'. This inverted pyramid shape uses cantilevered construction to overhang wooden beams and posts, enlarging the upstairs living space, making each level above wider than the level below. This unique building technique originated during the Ottoman period because property taxes were commonly levied based on the ground floor area of the house. This design maximized living space without incurring higher taxes.

This house motif is carried across the rest of the monument facility too, with landscaping reminiscent of someone's home garden, a courtyard area around the back, and grapevine-themed gates representing a common farming crop in Kavadarci.
