Built in the 1970s and in use until 2009, the only Olympic-level bobsled track ever constructed in Romania curves down the Bucegi Mountains towards the tourist town of Sinaia. The track's 1,500-meter length and 10+ turns are almost fully covered in moss, a stark contrast to the graffiti-covered concrete turns of the Sarajevo track.

In the sharpest turns, the bobsled track wall is over 5 meters high, with observation and access walkways above the path of the bobsleigh. It is made from reinforced concrete and used artificial refrigeration to keep the track cool enough to maintain ice in early and late winter.

There is a former museum area at the bottom of the track that has a converted bobsleigh, modified to run on metal wheels and a small section of track. This little experience of climbing into a bobsleigh and rolling down a small hill at quite slow speeds just makes the real thing, on ice, and at extreme speeds even more impressive.
